Navies of Vietnam, China strengthen cooperation

Vice AdmiralNghiem was speaking while receiving Chinese defense attaché JiangBo, and newly appointed Chinese naval attachéLiu Zhuqing, who came to pay a courtesy visit.

The two sides have successfully organized dozens of joint patrols and conducted multiple joint exercises at sea, contributing maintaining peace, security, and order in the Gulf of Tonkin and enhancing the two navies’coordinated response to non-traditional maritime security challenges.

Vice AdmiralNghiem proposed strengthening visits at all levels and effectively implementing signed cooperation mechanisms.

Attaché Jiang Bo said he will continue to promote cooperation between the armed forces of Vietnam and China, their navies in particular.

Colonel Liu Zhuqing expressed his pleasure at being appointed the first Chinese naval attaché to Vietnam and said he wants to serve as a bridge and communication channel for cooperative activities between the two navies.
